In early September, the heat will linger on some days, but the mornings and evenings will be chilly.
There tends to be a lot of rain in October and November.
The temperature drops dramatically from November onwards, so you'll need a coat or sweater.
The average temperature in October is 17 degrees, and in November it is around 11 degrees.

Higashi Chaya District (Ishikawa)

Chaya district is a representative area of Kanazawa culture, lined with stylish cafes and traditional craft shops.
It is a town full of atmosphere, exuding a traditional Japanese feel.

Natadera Temple (Ishikawa)

The best time to see the autumn leaves is from early to late November. This temple has been awarded one star in the Michelin Green Guide.
The temple grounds are well worth seeing, with important cultural properties scattered throughout.

Kurobe Gorge, Unazuki Onsen (Toyama)

Kurobe Gorge is known as a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves. It is a hidden area that can only be reached by trolley train.
You can enjoy the scenery while riding the train at Japan's deepest V-shaped gorge.
There are various hot springs, including Unazuki Onsen.

Tateyama Ropeway (Toyama)

This is Japan's longest "single-span ropeway" that offers an unobstructed view.
The windows are large, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful view.

Aramata Gorge (Ishikawa)

It is a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves, and the best time to see them is from early to late November.
There is also a 400m walking path in the surrounding area.
It is enjoyed as a beautiful natural sight.

Echizen Ono Castle Sea of Clouds (Fukui)

The Ono Basin is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The sea of clouds appears from October to April, but November is the best time.
This is the time when "Castle in the Sky Echizen Ono Castle" appears. (From dawn until around 9:00 a.m.)

There is also a castle town at the foot of the mountain, with streets full of charm.

Matsumoto Castle (Nagano)

National treasure "Matsumoto Castle".
From late October to early November, various events will be held as part of the Matsumoto Castle Festival.

Karasawa Cirque (Nagano)

A depression in the side of a mountain is called a cirque.
At the end of the hiking trail, there is a snow-covered mountain peak, and the scenery is filled with "pure white snow," "red autumn leaves," and "green trees."
This is a rare landscape where you can enjoy three different colors.
The view of the lit tents at night is also fantastic.
