Temperature and Clothing
Tohoku is located at the northern tip of Honshu. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, it is a region rich in nature.
There are many famous flower viewing spots, and it is crowded with many tourists every year. Snowfall can be seen until late March, and cherry blossoms usually bloom around mid-April. There is little rain until June, so it is a comfortable period. There is a large difference in temperature between day and night, so please adjust by wearing a light coat or layered clothing. Scarves are also recommended. The average temperature in March is around 5 degrees, and in April it suddenly rises to about 15 degrees.
Cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Park (Aomori)
The cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Park, adjacent to Hirosaki Castle, are one of the three most famous in Japan.
The Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival is held in late April or early May.

Ashino Park (Aomori)
It is famous as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. The Tsugaru Railway runs through the cherry blossoms, and in late April
1,500 cherry trees will be in bloom.
Together with the tasteful old station building and the Tsugaru Railway, it attracts many tourists.
National Michinoku Morino Kohan Park (Miyagi)
There is also playground equipment popular with children and facilities where camping can be enjoyed.
In late April, about 100,000 tulips begin to bloom, and the "Festival of Flowers"
will be held.
Nichinchu Line weeping cherry trees (Fukushima Pref.)
About 1,000 weeping cherry trees along a 3-kilometer stretch of the former Japanese National Railways (JNR) Nichinchu Line were developed.
The best time to visit is from mid to late April, when it is illuminated at night.
The cherry blossoms illuminated by the light are fantastic and show a different scenery from that of the daytime.
Kitakami Exhibition Site (Iwate Prefecture)
It is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot located on the shore of the Kitakami River.
About 10,000 cherry trees, selected as one of the 100 best places in Japan, are at their best around mid-April.
The event will be held at the Kitakami River. An event in which approximately 300 carp streamers will be flown over the Kitakami River will also be held.
Osaki Hachiman Shrine (Sendai)
The shrine is a spectacular example of colorful, gorgeous architecture and cherry blossoms.
It is designated as a national treasure and is a popular place for cherry blossoms to bloom.
